Member Service Representative
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity to learn valuable banking skills as a Member Service Representative. In this position, you will open and service accounts and deliver other products and services to members of the Credit Union through cross-selling. You will meet with members and ascertain their financial services needs, open accounts, and explain the benefits of our products and services. You will assist members with applications for mortgage and home equity loans by providing required forms and materials. You will perform a variety of clerical and support functions as well as serve as a teller and perform applicable functions when required.

Staff Accountant
Job Description:
Reporting Directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the staff accountant is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the accounting department. This position will be required to coordinate all aspects of the accounting functions for the Credit Union; including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and Reconciliations. Ensures adherence of Credit Union policies, procedures, and controls within the accounting/finance department.
Position Responsibilities:
While reporting to the CFO, the role of the staff accountant will primarily be to ensure an accurate and timely month-end and year-end close.
Expectations for the role include:
- Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the preparation of reporting requirements, assigned analysis, and projects.
- Reviewing journal entries into various accounts on an ongoing basis for accuracy and completeness.
- Providing technical support and assistance to troubleshoot and determine how and when to escalate issues.
- Reconciling general ledger accounts, researching the cause of discrepancies, and making general ledger entries to correct mistakes.
- Supporting the reliability and operations of the accounting system and processes to ensure the account/finance personnel perform their responsibilities efficiently.
- Performing Ad Hoc general ledger and accounting projects and analysis for credit union management.
- Identifying and helping resolve general ledger balance variances.
- The ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned by Manager(s).

- Possesses management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead the accounting staff and obtain results through others.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
- Possesses ability to work within a fast-paced environment against strict time constraints; accept new and changing responsibilities and adapt appropriately.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or related field; or two years of related work experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
- At least two years of progressively more responsible experience within a financial services organization, which has provided opportunity to gain the necessary experience and background knowledge to help direct the accounting department.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

- 3 or more years' experience as a mortgage loan originator.
- A strong knowledge of the Credit Union's marketplace consisting of East Boston, Revere, Winthrop, Chelsea, & the Seaport area.
- A strong knowledge of secondary market guidelines.
- The ability and willingness to participate in First Priority Credit Union activities to promote the Credit Union and generate business.
- Experience with Encompass Mortgage Software is a plus.

Pay:
The position is commission based with potential of $75,000-100,000 annually. Some initial financial assistance provided.
